Janell Snowden is a national television journalist whose work includes reporting of current events and breaking news, live coverage of nearly every notable red carpet event of the past decade, and profiles of many of entertainment’s most fascinating figures. She is VH1’s Chief News Correspondent, a correspondent on VH1’s daily morning show, Big Morning Buzz Live, host of several VH1 specials, and a frequent pop culture expert on CNN, HLN, MTV, and Sirius/XM radio.

Janell is an Edward R. Murrow Award nominee for a five-part investigative report she wrote, produced and anchored on the unsolved murder of legendary hip-hop DJ, Jam Master Jay, which she filed for BET Nightly News. In her work with a variety of networks including BET, NBC and VH1, she has covered the most monumental news stories of recent years, including the 9/11 tragedies, the past two presidential elections and the deaths of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson and Rodney King. She also has several thousand sit-down interviews to her credit including single-name sensations Madonna, Bono, and Beyoncé.
